The 2011 Lake Bolac Eel Festival is to be held on the 25th and 26th of March.
Festival events begin on Friday, March 25th with an Art Exhibition preview evening between 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
On Saturday, March 26th there is to be an Environmental Forum at 11am. The theme for the festival is “Biodiversity of Indigenous Grasslands: it’s the little things that count” from 11am to 1pm. The forum will be looking at how much grassland we used to have on the Victorian Volcanic Plain, what we have lost, why it is important, and what various people are doing to restore or protect indigenous grassland. There will also be planting out of an area of the bank near the boatshed to indigenous grassland species and organisers are hoping for plenty of volunteers to get the job done over the Festival weekend.
Live music follows from 1pm until midnight.
