2010 Australia Day Award winning Skipton Market is held the second Saturday of each month from 9am to 1pm.
Presented with the Australia Day Award by Corangamite Shire Council the market is run by the Skipton Progress Association.

Kanawinka Global Geopark Visitor Guide
The Visitor Guide to the Kanawinka Global Geopark is now available to be downloaded as a PDF. The Guide is a comprehensive, 28 page publication about this remarkable region that provides the visitor with details about all five Geopark precincts and includes a map of the Geopark that highlights more than 50 significant Geosites.

Australian Geoparks Network
The new theme of the upcoming workshop will be ‘Geotourism, Geoparks and Geotrails: A Way Forward for Australia’.
Close of Registration has been extended to July 3rd, 2010 (see PDF below).
An Agenda for the Workshop is now available (see PDF below)
The workshop will include reports from both Australia and overseas, as well as discuss the ramifications of the decision by the EPHC in November 2009 in relation to Geoparks in Australia.

Fun4Kids Children’s Festival

Awarded the ‘Best Community Event in Australia’ at the 2009 Australian Event Awards the Fun4Kids Children’s Festival will run from Sunday June 27th to Sunday July 4th in Warrnambool.
The festival is a not-for-profit event made possible by the Warrnambool City Council with the assistance of many helpers and supporters.

Sustainable Gardening
Corangamite Shire will launch its Sustainable Gardening Guide on Thursday 24th June 2010 at the Skipton Golf Club.
Sustainable Gardening expert Donna Ellis of the SW TAFE in Glenormiston will speak at the event.
A Greening Australia event proudly supported by Corangamite Shire the event arrival time is 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start and closing at 9:00pm.
Interested persons MUST REGISTER to attend as PLACES ARE LIMITED. Registration is required by Friday 18th June.
Refreshments and supper are provided but any dietary requirements need to be advised please.

Native Plants Propagation
Mike Robinson-Koss of Otway Greening Nursery will be sharing his knowledge about growing native plants on Sunday 27th June 2010 at a native plant propagation event at Brucknell (West of Timboon).
A Greening Australia event proudly supported by Corangamite Shire the event arrival time is 9:45am for a 10:00am start and closing at 3:00pm.
Interested persons MUST REGISTER to attend as PLACES ARE LIMITED. Registration is required by Friday 18th June.

Skipton Photographic Show is to be held on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th May 2010 at the Skipton Mechanics Hall, Anderson Street, Skipton.
There will be a guest speaker, a display of cameras through the ages and refreshments available.
