Basket Weaving Workshop – October 15th 2008

Under the auspices of Kanawinka Geopark there will be a one day
basket weaving workshop to be held on Wednesday the 15th of October 2008 at The Volcanoes Discovery Centre in Penshurst from 10am to 4pm .
Cost $20.00 that will include morning tea, lunch and all materials.
The day will explore the different aspects, techniques and materials between Indigenous and European basket weaving.
This will be followed by a practical session, and there will also be a small exhibition of the various baskets the two tutors have made.
Tutors:- Eileen Albert, elder and senior basket weaver from Lake Condah and Jill Hunter well known Western District basket weaver.
We have been given a small grant, so we will be publishing a small book on the days discussion and findings, with photographs of the various work.
Places are limited so it is important to book.
