2010 Australia Day Award winning Skipton Market is held the second Saturday of each month from 9am to 1pm.
Presented with the Australia Day Award by Corangamite Shire Council the market is run by the Skipton Progress Association.

A photography exhibition featuring images of Corangamite Shire’s lakes is to be held on the Labour Day weekend 11th – 14th March 2011 at the Killara Centre, Camperdown.
The exhibition is presented by Corangamite Shire’s Lakes Bullen Merri & Gnotuk Advisory Committee and Corangamite Arts Inc.

‘A Lens on the Lakes’ Competition/Exhibition

A photographic competition with the theme of capturing images that illustrate the natural, aesthetic, cultural and scientific values of Corangamite Shire’s lakes is closing soon.
The competition and exhibition is presented by Corangamite Shire’s Lakes Bullen Merri & Gnotuk Advisory Committee and Corangamite Arts Inc.
Entries can be artistic, creative and fun, birdlife, flora and fauna, or aesthetic scenic shots of any lake in Corangamite Shire.
As well, the photographs may depict social commentary and cultural uses such as water skiing, fishing, trail riding, swimming, wind surfing, or social occasions such as family picnics and weddings.
Entries must reach Corangamite Shire by:
4pm Monday 28th February 2011
Entries are invited from:
Open age photographers ($10 entry fee):
First prize $500, Runner-up prize $250
Teenage photographers (Under 18 – $5 entry fee):
First prize $100, Runner-up prize $50
Junior photographers (Under 12 – free entry):
First prize $50, Runner-up prize $25

Sustainable Gardening
Corangamite Shire will launch its Sustainable Gardening Guide on Thursday 24th June 2010 at the Skipton Golf Club.
Sustainable Gardening expert Donna Ellis of the SW TAFE in Glenormiston will speak at the event.
A Greening Australia event proudly supported by Corangamite Shire the event arrival time is 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start and closing at 9:00pm.
Interested persons MUST REGISTER to attend as PLACES ARE LIMITED. Registration is required by Friday 18th June.
Refreshments and supper are provided but any dietary requirements need to be advised please.

Native Plants Propagation
Mike Robinson-Koss of Otway Greening Nursery will be sharing his knowledge about growing native plants on Sunday 27th June 2010 at a native plant propagation event at Brucknell (West of Timboon).
A Greening Australia event proudly supported by Corangamite Shire the event arrival time is 9:45am for a 10:00am start and closing at 3:00pm.
Interested persons MUST REGISTER to attend as PLACES ARE LIMITED. Registration is required by Friday 18th June.
Refreshments and lunch are provided but any dietary requirements need to be advised please.
