"Make the Eels Migrate" Project

The 2013 Lake Bolac Eel Festival is to be held over the March 22nd to 24th weekend with music featuring some legendary names like Things of Stone and Wood, and Jim Moginie performing with Neil Murray. Remember the Art Exhibition Opening on Friday evening March 22nd from 6pm  to 8pm. Following the Art Exhibition will be a meal in the Lake Bolac Hotel with live music from the Tim Guy Trio. There will be a number of workshops over the weekend and you will need to be prepared. For further details visit  the Lake Bolac Eel Festival website at The workshops include “Stone walling: working with Ghost muscle (the Stones of SW VIC). Just to note that to particiapte you will need boots or sound shoes (no open-toe sandals please).  At  the “Eel Festival Record Club” bring along your favourite record to include on the playlist. Then sit down and listen (and/or dance !) to the variety of great music. Afternoon tea will also be served.

Enter the 2013 Recycled Sculpture Competition

Sponsored by Marx Metal Recycling of Ararat, entries have now opened for the “On the Move” Recycled Sculpture Competition with a $200 prize. Sculptures need to be taken to Lake Bolac Memorial Hall between 10am and 11am on Saturday 23rd March.  Entry fee is $2. “Make the Eels Migrate” is literally a “back of an envelope” idea where you are invited to draw a short-finned eel on the back of an envelope and submit by 15th March for inclusion in the Great Eel Migration of 2013.  For further information please download the “Make the Eels Migrate” flyer.
